You can make a lot of money with solo ads if you do things the right way and find good ezines.  Some tips when using solo email advertising.

Finding good places to place ads is the hardest part. It is important to track each ad with a tracking link. You can find ad tracking software/websites that give you the link. These are well worth doing for each and every ad you buy.

Unlike typical links, in a solo ad most people wont care if it looks like an affiliate link. As long as you target the right person and give them what they want.

Ie. a solution to a common problem

Track your clicks with something like clickaudit.com or adstracker.com
You can also setup a tracking link on your own domain with freelinkcloaker.com or a simple redirect page or a subdomain.

Keys to solo ads success:

1. Don’t be too salesy
-instead agitate a problem/frustration and offer a solution

2. Keep it short and to the point

3. Offer a compelling solution

4. Give the link

The subject line is the key to get people to open a solo ad. ASK A Question. “Are You Sick Of This?

Where do you find good places to run solo ads?

I like traffictesters.com they test ads for you every month and share which work and which don’t.

You can also find gurus in your niche with huge lists and ask to buy an ad directly from them.

There are also quite a few mailing companies that will send your ad to millions of double opt-in addresses for a reasonable price. Do this after testing and finding a good ad to send. It can be a $1000+ to send to millions.

One mailing list broker I have heard good things about is http://www.headstrong-media.com/

Or http://www.infousa.com

Make sure they are mailing your ad to their opt in lists. You don’t want to buy email addresses and try to send your own ads. Good way to get shut down by your host or ISP.

Typical cost for a big email blast is

Reaching Targeted/Business niche (double opt in)
3 million emails – $3,200 (3 separate 1,000,000 email deployments)
5 million emails – $4,500 (1 deployment of 5,000,000 emails)

Give solo ads a try. With a great ad you can do well. Some ads fail so it is no guarantee but you can reach a lot of people with one ad.

Here is a good list of places to upload your content to. You can build links to your sites with a blog on each of these services.

The benefit is lots of different ip addresses linking to your site.

Don’t get carried away posting a lot of links immediately when adding new blogs. Many services will be watching what you do when you start and if they think it is too spammy, your work will just get deleted.

So begin slow. Set up your account, wait a few days or a week to post to your blog. Start with a simple article with only one link out or even better start with a few posts without any links out. Just interesting info.

Add a couple links in a week or two. Act normal not like you are only building that blog to build links somewhere else. Spammy.

You are on probation at most blog hosts when you start out. Get past that and you will have a relevant site to link from for years.

Here’s a pretty good list:
